“To live in Love”

St. Thérèse of Lisieux

Love God

Love One Another

Love Ourselves

St Therese of Lisieux was inspired by the love of God and her longingness to know him and encounter him.

Christ is the inspiration of our school. As He inspired St Therese, we  work together as a community so He inspires us too.

“Jesus Christ is “the way, the truth and the life”.

As a Catholic school, we are part of the Church’s mission in education, to place Christ and the teaching of the Catholic Church at the centre of people’s lives. We work closely in partnership with Canon Alan Sheridan and the parish of St. Therese of Lisieux as well as other schools in the Diocese of Middlesbrough and our schools in our Academy Trust.

Please listen to our school song below. This was written and performed by our children to remind us and our community of our mission.

The words in our song capture why our faith is so important:

May you find peace deep within,

Keep the faith and you will shine…

And your soul shall be set free

Daily Collective Worship is crucial in developing a way for children to develop a relationship with Christ and come to know Him better.

Parents are regularly invited into school to pray and worship with their children and our school community. Half-termly ‘Stay and Pray’ opportunities; special class liturgies and whole school Masses are shared with parents and members of our parish. Pupils and class chaplains  in school promote our prayer life in school and make suggestions for ways to approach daily prayer in class,  preparing   ‘sacred spaces’ in school, as well as leading daily Rosary prayer each morning before school in May and October.

As a Catholic school, we ensure that Religious Education is at the core of our curriculum and 10% of teaching time in each year group is dedicated to the teaching of RE, following the “Come and See” syllabus for RE. We also encourage our pupils to explore and develop their faith and spirituality in all aspects of the school curriculum.

Promoting the teachings of the Catholic Church is an integral part of our mission to develop the potential of each child in our school.
