In school we have special families made up of children from each year group who are led by a ‘Year Six Guardian’. Each family also has an adult member of our staff, a governor or a friend of the school. Special families come together each term to pray and play together. Each session is planned and delivered by the Year Six Guardian. Activities have included: praying with and for each other, sharing a meal together, completing a family challenge and sharing a game through family playtime. All children love this special time and have built up a bond with their family members.
A family is a group of people who love and take care of each other.

As in all Christian families, our ‘Special Family’s’ values must be governed by the supreme value:
Love and worship of God.
During family time we share our special family prayer:
We need each other
We love each other
We forgive each other
We work together
We play together
We worship together
Together we use God’s Word
Together we grow in Jesus
Together we love all men
Together we serve our God
Together we hope for heaven
These are our hopes and our dreams
Help us to follow them, O God
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen

‘Being a guardian is a big responsibility but a special one. You look out for younger children and develop a special connection with them. We pray together and play together.’
‘Family time is exciting, it’s a special time that we share together.’
